Pharmacist who wants to win the lottery so she can just be an artist.
I've been drawing since I was a little kid, but never really explored beyond pencil sketches. In 2013 I decided that wanted to make an effort to accomplish something with my artistic talent and explore it further. Since I enjoy drawing scenes in TV shows or movies that emotionally move me, I decided my goal was to have a table at Phoenix Comicon and to sell my art. At that time I ventured into acrylic paints and Copic markers, learning from random stuff on the internet. In 2014, I had my first table at Phoenix Comicon and it was more successful than I expected. I have since expanded and had 2 tables at Phoenix Comicon/Fan Fest/Fan Fusion every year after that, and have been successful in doing so. Since Phoenix Fan Fusion was canceled for 2020, and probably 2021, I tried sketching with colored pencils, but I'm probably going to bounce back to painting for a bit.

Thanks for this llama badge. May I introduce myself to you or no?
Hello there :]
Passing by to say that your "Pharmacist who wants to win the lottery so she can just be an artist." is the self-description that fits my soul.
I'm a recent graduate Pharmacist and God knows how much I want to live from being an artist. I'm still practicing traditional and digital drawing and hope to one day win the symbolic (or litteral) lottery of being just an artist.
Anyway, I found you through your X Files art and loved your gallery! I'll be around for more beautiful paintings of cool TV shows and movies.
See ya o/
It's cool that there's another person who thinks similar to me! I don't run into too many pharmacist/artists! I don't regret becoming a pharmacist because it allowed me to do other things that I enjoy, without having to worry about income, but I don't feel I've ever "loved" the job. Another catchphrase I often put in bios is "Pharmacist by trade, artist at heart."
Thank you for the compliments and this message. I hope you have a great career balancing pharmacy and art, until that lottery comes around
Right? I believe you are the first pharmacist/artist I've ever met so far haha
And I totally understand your perspective since I also choose Pharmacy so I could be helpful to people (especially elders) and not worry too much about monthly income plus be able to buy artsy materials, after all, the art path is no cheap one.
No problem! It was a pleasant surprise to find you out here
Thanks for the good luck vibes! I too hope you can get to this lottery soon!
Oooh, and one more thing, I'm planning on getting back to posting art on Instagram. Can I use your "Pharmacist by trade, artist at heart" in my bio? It's just too perfect for me T^T
and I've been trying to think about a phrase for sooo long haha I suck at this things
Absolutely! Please feel free to use it! We may be the only ones like us out there
